Title: Tracking down meteorites
Post by: Rick on Sep 23, 2021, 09:59:50
Most of the meteor tracking that happens more or less automatically is done by fixed cameras and restricted to meteors seen during the hours of darkness when the meteor's track can be calibrated against the background stars. However, every once in a while something happens during the hours of daylight. This article gives an idea of the work involved in using video from dashcams etc. to track down a meteorite fall.
