Title: Gecko nebula Sh2-126
Post by: Carole on Aug 25, 2021, 23:39:15
Pushing my luck trying to get this one from home, but as I have been trying to image it for a couple of years and can never seem to be at the right place at the right time I thought I'd give it one more shot.

I used an Idas LPS LP filter instead of Luminance (thanks Roberto for the advice) and also did shorter subs than I would in a dark location as the LP would blow out the sensor.

Atik460EX and William Optics ZS71 on HEQ5
Idas filter (Lum) 450sec subs x 32  = 4 hours
Ha 6 x 600 secs
RGB total of 1 hour combined (binned)
Taken over 3 nights
Total imaging time 6 hours.

Would still like to try it at a darker location at some point.  Image tweaked since first posting.

Hi,

I really like this image. Very like the work of Eric Coles on Astroin. Really nice soft hues.

Clear Skies,

Thanks Garrick, it was a struggle at Bortle 8, I hope to be able to do it again in darker skies at some point.
