They were fireflies on that video but I've got a few glow worms so I'll give it a try with the Sony A7S.  Moonlight looks like daylight and even on a moon-free night it can see the dog running around.

I couldn't find a glow worm so I videoed a few nebulae in real-time instead.

Uploaded to YouTube:

Note that this is not a time-lapse.  When I say that I see nebulae in live-view, this is exactly what I am seeing.  Through the Tak Epsilon I see similar but much bigger of course!

A higher quality MP4 version straight off the camera can be downloaded here (by clicking on the "download" downward arrow):

P.S. spot the fleeting meteor at the top edge at 9sec just after I say the word "camera".  I'm looking forward to Perseids night ....

Low light video is what this camera was really designed for.  It will also natively record 4K video but this requires an external recorder attached to the live HDMI feed.  It is rumoured that the A7SII (later this year) will record directly to an internal memory card.

It's a shame about the amp glow visible top and bottom on the left edge.  It is only really a problem in video modes and Sony have received many complaints about it from low light videographers.

Here you go :)

Modified Sony A7S on Tak Epsilon with IDAS D1 LP filter.  4 frames/sec at ISO 160000.  What you see here is exactly what I see in liveview on the back of the camera.

Great Scott! Really amazing that you can get images live like that, I think most video solutions would need to stack frames to achieve the same levels. Great for outreach type activity.

Indeed, the amp glow does rather let it down for low light video but it more or less disappears for long exposure photography.

Flippin heck, that is incredible, you could make out every object on that.  I could only see the brightest magnitude stars on live view with my DSLR.

Also more than I could see in some cases than a 5 minute sub (until I had stacked and processed).
