Is there going to be a DSC next weekend? I know a lot of people are off to Kelling.
I was going to try Spill Farm nr Biddenden. Remote and not too big.Jonh was interested as well.
Yep I would deffo be intrested so long as the weather is half decent.
Sounds good, anyone else interested?
FYI Jackie sent me an email this morning that states:-
"Dear Mike,
I can save the top corner for you for this weekend if you would like to come.
Could you let me know please.
Many thanks,
Jackie".
Should I tell her you're going elsewhere?
Mike
Personally, I will not be going but I would suggest going to Rother as Jackie is making the effort
You could politely decline, explaining that its Kelling heath this month,
and that no one will be there
that way its still left open should we wish to return next month.
Mac.
I'm going, and I think it will have to be Rother. Are Jim and Jon going to come along? And how about you Mac? And Mick?
I went and had a chat with a guy at the Spill Land Farm site and it is closing for the season and next year it will all be static caravans. Shame, it's only 4 miles from Mark's and so very dark. Didn't accept camper vans either!
Cant make this one either, as im out on friday, and im in a concert all day saturday.
MAc.
Count me in! So long as someone can gimme a hand putting a rather large tent up, last time tried to do it me own I snapped a pole :-/
Any ideas when till when etc, and how much pitch fee is?
Jon

Which translated means, that I havn't a booking this month like I did last month, so you can all come back.
Tony G
I won't be there, lack of MOT and rear lights is causing problems at the moment - actually since March
Might pop down for a visit though
Jim might need a prod, don't know how frequently he looks on the forum - PM might do the trick
Don't forget to book

yes that is a nice thought to go to Rother, the right decision
OK i'll let her know you're coming. Don't forget to book individually so she knows how many are coming.
Yes, good to keep in with them so we can use it for some of the year.

:-) :-) :-)
C'mon Fay you can't say something like that & then not tell us what it is - unless of course you are trying to start rumours.... ;-)
suffer, suffer
Thanks Fay - see you at Kelling ...
Well, I'm booked for Rother Valley, weather is looking good and my mount RA axis is rebuilt and slick as a slick thing with extra grease (it didn't rotate freely before). Ready to roll!
I'm booked as well, should be there about 3pm Fri.
I have to work till 3, but should make it by 6 at the very latest.
Well I'm here Rother Valley Campsite set up and drinking cider. The cloud is thinning and there its only a light breeze. No sign of Jim yet. Here's to a good nights imaging!
Hope you have better weather than we are at Kelling. It's blowing a gale right now. My windbreak has fell over twice.
It's been windy here all day but fairly warm.
Tomorrow should be a lot better though - good luck
Might pop down tomorrow unless you're all going hiking
Hi Mick.
The wind has dropped and we have the Scopes waiting for dark . Jim has got a takeaway from the curry house and I'm waiting for a verdict! The sky is clearing and it is getting nippy.
Sounds good. Tell Jim i'll put a couple of big rolls in the freezer for him :)
So why does Jim need frozen bread.... ;-)
Stupid spell chocker - I meant bog ;)
:o
Great night, all up until 3 am. Lovely morning. Time for a fry up.
Did the new guy Jon turn up?
Jon turned up and promptly imaged ngc7000!
Sky is clearing here and forecast looks good. Jim has gone to the chippy and the cider is flowing.
Mick visited on the afternoon and we head a few Stellas and counted dragon flies. Great night last night. We all imaged until 2am when the clouds rolled in. A few interested campers asked the usual questions. All dry this morning, the dew had gone.
I still reckon we should all have gone to kelling to hold a laser and firework extravaganza
Had a pretty damn good time at my first DSC and now have some nice subs of NGC7000, M31, M45 and M81 to play with! Not to mention a rather long to do and shopping list to sort for the next one!
A big thanks to Duncan and Jim for helping me get eqmod up and running on Saturday!

Sounds good. I guess you've got lots of processing to do now. What scope, mount and camera are you using?
Mark
I have an Equinox 80ED on a NEQ6 and a modified Canon 450D, guiding with a QHY5 on a ST80.
Quite what all the different setting in DSS do I haven't figured out yet and the processing has still got me a little lost, but I know a lot more now than I did before DSC!
Don't worry Jon, your equipment will soon expand to a size big enough to drain your wallet ;)
HA! Too late for that, I had a budget and I managed to exceed it in quite spectacular fashion! :-?
Plus I now have a whole bunch of things I need (want) to get and/or make!
Oh well, looks like the new car will have to wait another 12months.
Welcome to astronomy and imaging
