what would be the reason that sometimes FITS header shows all info & other times it does not?

Hi,

Depends on the camera and the software support, you will probably find its something like if I use X with Y software it does not work but X with Z does.

well most of my subs, done with, Atik/QSI/Astroart, are incomplete. When i did my one off dark sequence, with Maxim, headers were complete

Fay,

When you say 'complete' that's not true. MaximDL may show more FITS keywords but even that is a subset but you might find that AA has options that enable more keywords or that because some information is unknown or unset it just doesn't add those keywords.
