Title: Electric Focus ED80
Post by: JohnP on Jun 07, 2011, 20:47:30
Hi All,

As you know I have ED80. Am looking at potential for getting an electric focus unit (not necessarily auto) just being able to drive via hand held control box. Does anyone know of a relatively cheap solution - dont seem to be able to find much scanning web. The focus on my Orion ED80 looks same as this (which I think is the same as the Skywatcher one).. Cheers,  John.

There are others but here's one

If you're planning to go the full auto route at some stage, JMI or Lakeside seem to be the weapons of choice

Hi John,

I believe that is a ED80 in the image even though it is a Skywatcher and not an Orion, but I think they are very similar, and is the same one I adapted to fit on the back of the SkyMax 150 Pro, which works fine for me, but I think would be adequate for a non remote focuser.
Have a look on Ebay as there are some on there from time to time.
