Title: See the eclipsed moon rise from out of the sea at Eastbourne
Post by: Whitters on May 27, 2011, 07:09:51
Wednesday 15th June 2011 - Helen Gardens, Eastbourne, 9pm onwards. ECLIPSE !
On the evening of June 15th the Eastbourne Astronomical Society will be erecting telescopes on Helen Gardens to observe a total eclipse of the moon. Members of the public are invited to watch this event and to use the telescopes from 9pm onwards. The eclipsed moon rises at 9.07pm over the sea, but is unlikely to become visible for some time afterwards because it is not possible to predict just how dark the moon will appear. However when it does appear it may exhibit a rust colour. Totality does not end until 11.02pm.

That, I think, is worth the trip down there.  Thanks, Paul

Doug.
