OK, so I know loads of you are going to Kelling but.........................
Of those that are left, who plans to go to DSC -
Location depending on weather but Rother is looking promising
If the weather is ok I'll be going.
shame it is at the same time. Never mind May is next!
Just booked Rother Valley hopefully the weather will stay dry.
It'll be a quiet one Mick - with quite a few at Kelling Heath and with me moving house.
Clear skies!
Mark
Is Rother valley the one near Brighton or the one near Northiam?
Mac
Rother Valley is at Northiam.
Mac Rother Valley is the one near Northiam.
Mark, I know, It's a pain that there is a New Moon in Norfolk as well as Sussex :!
At least Rother is only an hour away.
If it gets boring during the day, we can come round and watch you trying to find where the removal men have hidden your crockery
Forgot to mention at the meeting tonight -
If you are going to the proper DSC at Rother Valley (not the fake one at Kelling) please remember to book up especially if you want electricity.
I have heard from Jackie, the pitch has dried out nicely 8)
So who's going? To Nothiumnnnn
I hear that the one in Norfolk will suffer from a lot of rain this weekend!
me, me, me, me :)
oh!
At the moment, the Best weather forecast is for partial cloud over the whole weekend :!
Not looking worth the effort :(
Well it looks like your the only one going to Rother, could be worse 250mile round trip to norfolk and clouds....
Well, I have packed enough for a visit to the moon. Will never get it all back in the car again. Not expecting any weather, but will make the most of everything else, a drink a laugh a chat, look around at what everyone else has ......if I get there in one piece :-?
Ive started with good intentions :-?
Batteries charged, water tank filled, packed up most of the kit and getting ready to load...............
It's now pissing down :!
I think a cancellation is on the horizon :(
Mick I would cancel if I was going to Rother, but I feel committed & will accept whatever happens, except, if it is raining when the tent has to go up or when it is coming down, and, it is raining for the journey

Are you after a new umbrella then Fay??????????? :cheesy:

Looks like Kelling and Rother will both be windy and cloudy with Kelling getting a bonus of rain :-?

I think the weather is playing an April Fool's prank ...
Metcheck says it will be "Fair"
That's got to be a bad omen :(
"Fair" as in cloudy and wet. yes that is fair compared to "Hurricane".
well in preparation, for an ordeal, I had a bath, put my dressing gown on, put fire on & watched "War of the Worlds. Perfect for a rainy day.........unlike camping
Well I am taking some books and electronics projects to work on as I have a feeling that not a lot of astro-photography will be going on over the next 4 days.
Weather's not looking promising unfortunately. Mike there is a bar there for the evenings if it's cloudy.
Carole
Did someone say Bar ? :o
Yes there is a bar - with free WiFi. But I thought it was open when it was cloudy and when it was clear :cheesy:
Meteoblue is currently showing some clear sky on both Friday and Sunday nights.
Yeah but with several hundred people staying at the campsite and one bar, what is it going to be like on a cloudy night?
I'm taking my own bar! And stuff for making a new dewheater. And stuff to read. And of course there are subs to reprocess. And stuff to eat.
And Meteoblue looks very hopeful :)

Mars, Galaxy or Milky Way?
Well, at least it will be warm overnight............................wrapped up in a sleeping bag in the tent. ;)

Only one weather forecast gives a chance of clearish sky on Friday.
I tried to convince myself it would be worth driving down to Rother on the off chance of clear dry skies - failed :(
Yet another DSC bites the dust :!
BBC Weather shows a completely clear sky for Kelling and Rother on Friday night.
I think Rother has had some rain every day this week with more forecast daytime over the weekend.
Meteoblue are showing 100% cloud coverage at high level on Friday and low level on Sunday.
Fortunately the seeing will be good so a clear view will be had of the clouds :-?
Quote from: mickw on Mar 31, 2011, 11:47:24some rain every day this week
It's doing better than my garden, then. Got enough here to make things slightly damp yesterday, but that's all... :brolly:
What you should do is move it BACK to Blacklands, mostly clear there from memory, seems like the move in venue has wiped it out.
According to Meteoblue, Blacklands does have a slight edge over Rother for cloud cover
Weather forecasters are as good as bloody politicians - useless.
It's frustrating that a few days of rain can make Rother unuseable (being selfish because of the shorter journey and having the van)
I'll check the weather reports again tomorrow and there's a possibility of few clear hours for more than one night I'll throw all my stuff in the van and give Blacklands a try
Hi,
Possibly not worth it, but our neibours are on holiday so you could park there and come into the Garden?
Chris
Doesn't seem to be any changes in the forecasts so I guess it will have to be at home with TV and beer again
Don't mix the two!
