Title: EQ6 Pro handset
Post by: Fay on Feb 18, 2011, 23:18:34
On my HEQ5 Pro handset, the stars are in alphabetical order & mostly common names are used. On the EQ6, the stars are not in order & 90% have the proper arab names, all of which are about 20 letters long, which I do not recognise.

Is this right ?  Or have I got a chinese version?    :o

What do the instructions say  ;)

edit
I can't find any reference to language in any of the downloads at Skywatcher, looks like a phone call will be needed.

Still at least you won't need to read the instructions

Fay - it depends on the mode.

When you are performing a star alignment, it comes up with common stars in order of "usefulness for alignment" given the time and location i.e. not alphabetical.

When you later choose to slew to an object in the sky, and choose a star, they come up alphabetically.

Oh ok Mark, did not know that, although I would like to have had the names looking more familiar for alignment, never heard of most of them

Would the stars be displayed for the hemisphere the mount is located ?

Is the Lat/Long set correctly ?
