Title: Astrotrac Pier
Post by: MarkS on Feb 14, 2011, 05:42:44

I came across this today: http://www.astrotrac.com/Default.aspx?p=pier
A lovely design - the pier's legs and even the astrotrac itself, all neatly packs into a single cylinder for transportation.

It's a very nice bit of kit and there is another one on the way for their equatorial mount.  I'm sure it was around £300 (excl) but now doesn't seem too bad, even so you need to add VAT @20% = £300 plus there's the wedge so that adds up to a tidy £550-600 for the lot.

So are you tempted ?

I was quite tempted especially for a portable lightweight setup, but to get the full kit its about £1300  :o
