...............Well, apart from the whole sky being brightened by the reflection from the snow anyway!

:O)
Setup outside, but have no dew strip for 6". Could not even clear it with hairdryer, frost too heavy, so in now
blimey Fay you posted that msg at 5.30pm.... given up already.....??? I have to drive to Gatwick at 8pm - hopefully back by 10'ish - may set up then if still looks clear...
Gatwick been there too much recently........
Well, I know John. I was only planning on the Moon with 6" & I haven't got a dew shield for it. Up early in the morning
Went out last night to do Orion Neb + Running Man Neb with the ED80.
Waste of time. With a 5min exposure at F6 these were the skyglow figures I was getting:
Red: 360 electrons
Green: 540 electrons
Blue: 560 electrons
And that was with a CLS filter! It is the brightest I've ever measured on a moonless night.
Anyway, I captured 3 hours of very noisy data. The Peltier cooling on the Canon 350D (though hardly needed) behaved flawlessly again, at a very gentle setting of -8C.

Me too...
It's OK if you like Costa Coffee. You're screwed if you don't.
Better than Starbucks anyway....
Flights delayed so didn't get back till gone 11 - too knackered to set up.... :-(
