Title: Complete disaster from Les Granges
Post by: Rocket Pooch on Sep 28, 2008, 15:32:56
Well would you believe last night we got here and the skies we're perfect for a few hours and approx mag 7, and guess what, my guide camera packed up (I think I have resolved this now) anyway, I had to resort to doing a few 2 minute exposures un-guided on M45 just to get anything, here's the results, I'm so not happy!!!

Very annoying for you going all that way and dragging all that equipment with you only for it to pack up.  Hope you've resolved it.

Sorry to hear about the guide camera packing up, hope everything goes better tonight, That said, that's some amazing nebulosity you've captured on M45 there, I haven't been able to capture that amount with 10 minute exposures here.

Think it might be time for me to re-new my passport!!

Chris,

Guide cam packing up?  That's a real let down.  I really hope you can resolve it or find something else to use.

But that M45 image is very nice indeed.

Have you considered getting treatment?

That's very bad news Chris.  But having seen what you can get with 2 min unguided, stacking more of those would also give you an excellent result.

I know it's poor consolation, but the forecast here is ... you guessed it - Rain !
