Title: Deep sky stacker.
Post by: Mac on Aug 23, 2008, 18:17:17
I keep getting out of memory errors. Any ideas.

I was tring to stack 5 images of M57 & 5 Darks.

Following the instructions, I opened the light frames and checked them all.
Loaded the dark frames.
After clicking on the register checked pictures
it goes through and registers them,
then goes on to the stacking bit

every time after that it comes up with memory error.

I've loads of disk space, and computer memory.

It dosent matter if i chose 1 photo or loads.
every time it crashed.

Clicking on compute offsets works ok.

clicking on stack checked pictures, gives out of memory errors.

Any ideas.

The photos are raw 350D photos, 8M pixels.

Check if you have 2x or 3x drizzle turned on, I get out of memory errors when I turn that on when processing DSLR images every time, even on my work machine that has 8GB of ram (though I doubt DSS can address that much anyway)

Mac I will bring your Televue to the next meeting, as you will be needing to use it now. I have not had a chance to use it, for obvious reasons................no clear sky for 2 months!

Ok no problems,

But if Jim brings my 2" adapter from the lightbridge,
then you can keep it untill im ready.

I only need the 2" to 1 1/4 " adapter and i had two,
One in the teleview and one thats in the light bridge.
