Title: Mobile Site
Post by: JohnP on Aug 07, 2008, 13:26:55
Hi Rick, Ian,

Does the OAS have a webpage formatted for use with mobile devices (like my HP hx4700 PDA) - I've just figured out how to connect my PDA to wireless internet in the house/ hotspots etc. & it'd be great to look at forum/ messages. I can do it with the regular webpage but it's a bit tricky with layout etc. I've just found out that UKAI has a mobile ready site that works great for looking at messages etc. (not images).

Cheers,  John

we don't have a mobile site at the moment, so it involves a certain amount of scrolling around. This may be a pleasant experience or not, depending on your handset.

I don't know if there's a SMF plugin for a mobile version, I'll take a look.

I don't think it'd be worth doing it for the main site, it doesn't change significantly day to day but clearly the forum does...

They actually have three that they use:

or

http://ukastroimaging.co.uk/forums/index.php?action=forum;wap2

or

http://ukastroimaging.co.uk/forums/index.php?action=forum;imode

take your pick

The admin guy that seems to know all about it is Jay & his profile name if you want to pm him is 'thescope'

Cheers,  John

PS - Looks OK on my PC - plain & simple just what I need... works great on my PDA as well...
