Title: Deep Sea Camp
Post by: mickw on Dec 11, 2007, 09:24:00
I'd just like to say a big thanks to those who organised camp over the weekend.
Although not being as prepared as I thought I was, I had a great time.
Some real nice images were produced by Fay, Mark, Ian, Tony and Mike.  I'm sure some more will creep onto the forum during the week, but it shows what can be done despite the weather.
Looking forward to the next one (hopefully a dryer one)
Mick

Mick you are funny "Deep Sea Camp"!!!!!!

Did the water run into your tent? I am thinking that your ground sheet was not built in.

Hi Fay,
Nope, water did not actually run in, although a separate groundsheet would be an advantage in that case - it could run out also.
I was getting condensation on the inside and because of the heavy rain and high wind, I was also getting some water spraying through the tent.
I've had the tent up in the garden all day drying out, will stick it up again tomorrow to finish it off (ironically, some wind would have helped to dry it out).
As it's the second time I've put it up, it is now really easy.  I reckon for anything other than extreme weather, it is pretty much ideal, although I will probably "proof" the inner tent just to make sure.
