Title: posting details
Post by: Fay on Jun 04, 2007, 20:57:11
I am thinking that the posting details to the far right of the forum screen, are not prominent enough.

I don't seem to be looking & seeing the information straight away. I am looking harder to take it in.

Does this make sense, I am thinking not.

Back to my knitting.

The forums with new posts should show up because they're marked with (http://forum.orpington-astronomy.org.uk/Themes/oas/images/on.gif)
The ones with no new posts have a grey logo instead (http://forum.orpington-astronomy.org.uk/Themes/oas/images/off.gif)

When you look at a list of posts the new ones should be marked with (http://forum.orpington-astronomy.org.uk/Themes/oas/images/english/new.gif)

Also, recent changes get marked in bold with Today or Yesterday whether you've read them or not, and in the block under your name at the top (revealed by clicking the (http://forum.orpington-astronomy.org.uk/Themes/oas/images/upshrink2.gif)) there are two links:
Show unread posts since last visit.
Show new replies to your posts.

Oh, and if you're seeing all the forums marked (http://forum.orpington-astronomy.org.uk/Themes/oas/images/on.gif) and lots of old posts marked (http://forum.orpington-astronomy.org.uk/Themes/oas/images/english/new.gif) then look for the MARK READ option above the list of topics in each forum, or the MARK ALL MESSAGES AS READ option at the bottom of the list of forums main forum page.
