There was a spectacular fireball over Spain and Portugal on the night of 17th/18th May. It had an elongated comet-like orbit. It came in at over 40kms per second, and the lowest part of the incandescent path was up at 60kms, so there are no new meteorites on the bottom of the Atlantic. Speculation is that it was a large chunk of cometary ice...
