Title: Blue Horsehead IC4592 from DSC
Post by: Carole on May 12, 2024, 14:17:51
Was pushing my luck with this target, but it has been on my bucket list for some time and one of the reasons I picked these particular dates for DSC.  If we had booked a month later it would have risen earlier, but there would be less dark sky and hoards of Joe Public on site.

It didn't rise until after midnight, and disappeared by 3.20, so only managed 2 hours 40 mins.  Could have done with 2 nights on it, but as we only had 2 clear nights and those were both a bit iffy, I had the wrong scope on the rig the first night I could have done it, so just continued with my early target.

Samyang lens and Atik460EX
2 hours luminance and 40 minutes binned RGB.
Total imaging time 2 hours 40 minutes
