Title: Crazy Number of Satellite Trails
Post by: MarkS on May 23, 2023, 10:45:47
I haven't done a lot of imaging in the last couple of years.  I did some last week - a widefield image of M13 globular cluster.  I'm still processing the results but the first big change I've noticed is the crazy number of satellite trails:

The above is the pixel rejection map from 3 hours of imaging time with a Canon EOS R on my Tak Epsilon 180ED.  I've never seen anything like this before!

Thought you'd been quiet Mark, what have you been doing instead?

It's getting terrible Mark.  I must say though this is the worst I have seen.
Take a look at Pete Vasey's post on SGL

You might like to add your image above to the thread.

Worst around the summer solstice, I guess, but quite depressing. The Iridium constellation was trouble enough. Starlink et al make it far worse. :(
