Title: M101 24 March
Post by: MarkS on Apr 11, 2020, 09:06:52
M101 imaged on 24th March.  300 exposures of 30sec making a total of 2.5 hours.  Modified Sony A7S on Celestron C11 with Starizona 0.72x LF SCT corrector.

As always, I've tried to keep the colours as natural as possible.

The full-size version is here:

The arms are quite faint and need a few more hours of data, so the processing is quite a balancing act between detail and noise.  There's possibly some room for a bit more noise reduction.

Lovely Mark, I have always found this one to be quite difficult.

Very nice Mark, unfortunately the posted picture has a lot of field cut off but the full size is lovely.

Looks like some hot blue giants are resolved too :)

I've realised that I made an error during processing, so this appears a lot more green than it should.  I'll produce a new one with more accurate colour balance.

That's an excellent short Mark - the detail is superb.
