Title: Thor's Helmet from Kelling Heath
Post by: Carole on Apr 21, 2015, 13:54:52
Not the best choice of targets as it was very low and sinking fast, but it's been on the wish list for ages - no chance from home as trees in the way.

Grabbed what I could but was imaging almost on the horizon at one point.  Guiding struggled a bit at this low altitude,
Mapped HSO 3 x 15mins Ha
2 x 300secs Oiii & Sii binned x 2
So not a lot of data really
Skywatcher ED120 & Atik 314 plus FR x0.8

Not much data, but all I could get:

That's a very creditable result given how low it was.  Well done.  But I bet you'll be itching to try it again under more favourable conditions next year!

Thanks every-one.  Now I can see it on the home PC I can see it's overall too red, so must adjust that.

I'd love to, but it's getting to a dark site when this target is available.
