Here is an gif file of the meteors I caught over a couple of nights.... Don't blink or you'll miss them...

Nicely caught and a great idea, well done.
Well I counted 9 and if thats correct, it's 9 more than what I seen over 3 nights.

Thks Tony. I had it running last night & got something like another 12.. 1 or 2 quite bright. I guess absence of moon & clear sky helped...

Yep sorry that was me... I only have limited space available (50Mb I think) provided free of charge to me by my ISP as part of my broadband package. When I tried uploading my latest pictures yesterday I kept getting error messages so I decided to try & delete some files to free up space & it worked. Unfortunately, the comet animation image was one of the largest files.... I will try uploading it again today.. maybe it will take it.

I guess I need to look at paying someone to give me more space...:-(

Sorry,  John

I think it scuppered your chances of winning OAS "Movie of the Month"

Mark

JohnP

Mark - It was a crap movie anyway.....

Congrats on your image of the month.....

You also have space on the OAS gallery...

JohnP

This is true - thks Rick - I can upload to there....

Just looked at ezpz hosting - very reasonable price & seem to offer a good service judging by OAS forum...

John.

JohnP

Rick - I have tried uploading files twice. It does upload OK but then when I press continue to add file to albun I get a critical error..... There was an error processing database enquiry....?  Any ideas? Thks,  John

PS - File is animated gif approx 4.5Mb

Rick

Hmmm... There's some fallout for a couple of attempts in the file system, 14:08 and 14:26. I seem to remember having trouble with animated gif previews in the past, but Mark managed to upload his NLC animation recently. I'll try to figure out what's happened...

Rick

*sigh* The "Critical error" is, apparently, "MySQL server has gone away". Smaller images with less complicated thumbnail requirements work fine, so I guess it's time for another ticket...

Rick

Well, I've got a fudge of sorts in place. It doesn't produce an animated thumbnail, but it does seem to allow for the possibility of uploading your animation. Please give it another try sometime.

Mike

I've said it before.. I've got a ridiculous amount of space on my server you are welcome to have. I can set you up with a subdomain of amateur-astronomy.org

So far only Duncan has taken me up on the offer (well I also made one for Fay but she never used it).
