An update in the morning should include new special events and news as well as the main index page. I've also put place holders in to the reports pages, waiting for more detail (and maybe the odd photo) for the following events:
* The Transit of Venus.
* Summer Deep Sky Camp.
* The Augus Members Evening.
* Leicester Space Centre.
A few tweaks should appear in the morning. Nothing particularly significant. Still need to get reports for the last two DSCs and the Leicester trip, and actually write up the Venus transit properly...
Added a little cgi tweak to the observing evenings page to give sunrise and sunset times.
Night sky, news and special events page updates.
Please can those in the know check the dates!
Thanks.
Rick - Are teh DSC dates on the website correct for Feb 2005? I am sure Paul said it was the same weekend as Astrofest !!
Ah, yes. I was sure it wasn't, and "corrected" them. I'll un-correct them sometime soon.
At the moment my main computer has memory holes, and it keeps scrambling things, so until I have a new DIMM I'll be a bit stuck...
I hope the DSC dates are now correct.
The DIMM in my home computer is however a casualty of Magic Smoke (tm)...
I have one or two spare DIMMS hanging around. If you let me know what spec you are after I will see if I have one that fits.
Thanks. The replacement I'd ordered at the weekend arrived this morning. Hopefully that'll put the system back into operation. If it doesn't...
Night sky and Special Events pages have been updated (along with the main index). Thanks, Greg.
As usual, please check them...
A few typos fixed. As usual, please check and report any errors and omissions to me, either here or in email.
Also, check the 2005 special events report page for Paul's report of the Greenwich evening.
Oops... Post observing-evening date changes should appear in the morning.
Post RAS Library visit up.
With a bit of luck, and slightly later than I'd originally planned, the usual post-meeting and post-observing evening updates will be up in the morning. Of course, I only realised I'd missed the observing evening when I checked the page to see whether the post-meeting updates looked Ok...
Usual post-meet updates and a small addition to the gallery should be up later this morning...
A little late, the next observing evening date.
A couple of image swaps in the main site's gallery. (As usual, complete gallery is on the archive site.)
Usual post-meeting updates should be visible now. The report on last night's talk could probably use a coherency check, as I was half asleep when I wrote it...

...and again. ;)
...and again.
I think I've now done all the necessary post-anniversary updates to the main website, including reports for the weekend's events ( http://www.orpington-astronomy.org.uk/events2005.html ). If anyone wants to expand or correct those...
The info. for the DSC's is sparse. Paul, Jeff and myself will get together at some time in the future and do a short write up on each one for submission.

Yep, I've mostly had to write them up from things I've overheard. I guess I
could let my imagination run wild, but then again... ;)

Thanks. That'd be good. So would a copy of your Venus Transit report. :)
Saturday week sounds an ideal time.
I've done the usual post-meeting updates, and juggled the DSC dates so that the next one is now featured.
Still no sign of those promised contributions, though... ;)
The usual post-meeting updates should appear in the morning. Please check them carefully. I've been typing them up while being less than usually awake...
The usual post-meeting updates should appear in the morning...
The usual post-meeting updates and the August night sky page are up.
The October Night Sky page is up.
I wasn't at the last meeting. Is there anyone who was at the meeting who could write a short report on it for the website, please?
Post-meet updates done. I could still use a report for last month's meeting though. If anyone can remember anything about it, please post in comments here (or email me), and I'll try to stitch together something readable...
Please can folk in the know check these recent updates:
1) Meeting report for November, and other usual post-meet changes.
2) New dates on the Special events page.
3) Observing evening dates.
...and it really should have been uploaded first. It is now...
Special events dates look OK to me. :-)
Tracked down and removed the old DSC map.
Updated the bit about the Xmas meal in the light of yesterday's news.
Please check... :)
Hi Rick,
note looks OK, however the picture link takes you to the Observing Evening page.
Oops. Hangover from Moonwatch. I'll fix it...
Society Dinner update - new date and venue.
Various new-month updates done, finally...
Society Dinner - a bit more detail.
Still needed: A map, and the exact time...
Usual post-meet updates done, I hope. Let me know if you spot anything wrong...
Post-AGM updates done (sort-of) but I'm relying on my memory, and it sometimes isn't reliable. Please check and let me know what needs to be corrected...
I've already spotted one mistake on the committee page... ;)
Post DSC and Observing evening updates. I've put a "Messier Marathon" banner (quick hacked-together banner) linking to the thread in the Announcements section that I've also started. Please, Jeff and TonyG, update that thread with details.
Cheers.
Reports for the last two meetings added. Thanks to Ian (It was you, wasn't it?) for adding the report on Nik's talk.
The twiddly updates like adjustments in the "Next Meeting" and "Recent Reports" boxes now happen automagically, thanks to the new content management system.
Mike, I gathered the extra imaging session was meant to be a change, so I've removed the one I thought wasn't wanted.
Please let us know if you spot errors and ommissions on the site.
It was I :wink:
I've been giving "Behind the Scenes" a make-over today. OAS members who can't see that section need to contact me.
The August Meeting Venue has been added, along with the usual post-meeting updates...
