M76 is a smallish dim (mag 12) planetary nebula known as the little dumbell. This is far and away the dimmest object I've observed at the eyepiece and this image just captures a little of it's shape and colour. The name appears quite apt.

Continuing with the firsts, this is my first non-messier NGC object, NGC7662 in Andromeda. It is known as the blue snowball. This is relatively bright at mag 8.6.

p.s. I have linked to these images rather than in-lined them so I don't use too much time.

Love the blue snowball. Once work quitens down and I'm below 50 hours

I'm quite proud of it  I'm going to try it again, polar align better and stick a barlow in. The snowball has quite a pronounced omega (lower case) shape in it. Although you can just make it out it last nights pic I think more magnification would bring it out further.

Excellent work Ian ! WHen I get some spare time to myself (thats rare) I shall have another go at my Toucam, your excellent images have definately spurred me on !
