M31, M101, M32 Widefield (26x17 degrees)
« on: Oct 01, 2013, 08:43:24 »
My first attempt at using a lens to take very wide field images. thanks to Robert for lending me his iOptron Tracker. Excellent bit of kit. The only thing I need to get right is focus. If I hadn't nudged the tripod PA would have been OK as well but there was minor trailing on 14x300s subs.

Album name:Duncan / Galaxies and Clusters
Image date, time and location:20130930 30 Sept 2013, 9:00-00:30 UTC, Les Alpilles, France
Telescope aperture and focal ratio:   Asahi Pentax 50mm manual lens at f4
Camera and filters used: Canon 1000D Modded, Astronomik CLS-CCD
Processing applied:Deep Sky Stacker and minor tweaks in Irfanview, no sharpening

Nice FOV. It's a tad green but a good start.

Encouraging to see you did 300 sec subs Duncan!

I'm not convinced as to the accuracy of the drive though Fay as some subs trailed more than others. Needs more subs!
