Waited up for a shot of Jupiter and the Moon last night but the clouds rolled over  :(

Anyhow...here's a couple of shots I took of the Moon earlier in the evening. Photo-shopped one of them quite heavily to bring out the detail along the terminator.

Think it's the edge of the Mare Crisium that looks so mountainous??

Good shots Kylee.  I think I prefer the 2nd one even though the first shows the mountainous area better.

They look great Kylie - especially the second one.

Which camera, lens, exposure settings etc did you use?
Was it hand held or on a tripod?

Kylee

I agree Carole....thought I would just play around with Photoshop! Haven't got a clue what I'm doing with it!

Mark...it was my Canon 600D straight onto my Skymax127. ISO 200 and only very quick exposure.

Next time try taking a number of quick images and stacking them in Registax.  Registax 5 will take RAW files but not too many of them, it will be surprising how much sharper the images will then become.  Not that this image needs much in the way of improvement.

I might try it...I took quite a few images...enough to try and stack I think.

Fay

Yes I prefer the second one, very nice Kylee!

It is healthier to be mutton dressed as lamb, than mutton dressed as mutton!

Added a close up I took of the mountains  :)
