Well after the un-usual saga of loosing the observatory keys, im now back in the land of astronomy.

So last night was first light for 2012  :o
Nikon D3 was piggy backed on top of the EQ6.
60mm, f5.6 30" shots
20 stacked in registax.
a quick process in photoshop.

Looking towards Cassiopeia somewhere.
(milky way)

Cant be more precise then that as i was only trying a point and shoot,
I've tried http://nova.astrometry.net/ with both the original image,
the original image underexposed by 2 stops
and the same with the image scalled down to 1024, but it can find the image data.

Glad you are getting back with us Mac. cleared all the spiders & mould ok?
It is healthier to be mutton dressed as lamb, than mutton dressed as mutton!

Mac

sort of, nearly all of the mould has gone.

There was a couple of small bits, but most must have been baked away during the sunny days.

havent quite worked that out.

Mac.

Looks like part of Cass, part of Perseus and definitely the double cluster.

Great to see an image from you!

A few strange shaped stars and some streaks from hot pixels.

Looking forward to seeing more images now Autumn and Winter approach ...
