Lovely.  There's a pretty large prominence there.  
It's exactly what we all saw through Julian's solar scope this morning after our bacon sarnies!

It's probably worth using a tripod though  ;)

Julian, yes please bring it along and we can stick a camera on it. I should be ok to put the SLR on now I have found my spare T2 connector.

Having great fun with this scope, only had it two weeks, and the first day saw a flare! Amazing how fast the Sun changes and how energetic it is.
There is a plage region around the sun spots and a couple of filaments, and plenty of prominences   :P
