If anyone is interested in a meteor cam I just ordered one of these from fleabay with a lens for ~£65 delivered.  That is less that 30% of the retail price here (approx £300) even with import duty added.

The camera has a 1/2" Sony mono ccd with 752x582 pixels (same chip as the lodestar) and the lens is a 16mm f/1.4 giving a decent field of view.  Sensitivity is 0.002 lux with AGC on low and 0.0003 lux on high with that lens so it should be well sensitive enough for meteor capture.  Output from the RCA phono type socket will work straight off with my usb video capture dongle.  It also runs off 12v...

EBay "Watec 902h" to find it if you're interested.  There are also a couple of video's on youtube showing one capturing meteors.

Cheers
Robert
