No, this is not a Deep Sky Camp story!

The Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider, or RHIC, (pronounced "Rick") accelerated gold ions in a 2.4-mile-round magnetic ring and smashed them together at nearly the speed of light to create to create a particle soup reaching temperatures of several trillion degrees.
