Hi All, maanaged to get out for a bit laast night, and did aa little experimentation with sub length. I wanted to see how long I could push my subs and still get a usable image, I tried for 4 minutes but those exposures ended up bringing in too many gradients. So at the very end of the session I just fired off what i could at 2 minutes, which i already know is ok on a clear night. Unfortunately this meant that I could only get 50 minutes on the subject since i'd already spent most of my time on the 4 minute subs.

Anyway, I was quite happy with how they came out anyway, just kicking myself I didn't use the whole night to image it.

Here it is, I've included a closeup at 50% res aswell to show details.

Very good image at a nice scale.  With more subs this would be spectacular.  I'm hoping to do a small part of the NA Neb myself tonight at DSC.

I'm unsure what you mean by gradients.  How can a 4min image have gradients but not a 2min image?
