Mike

Just a reminder that we are holding our Nth (sorry cant remember what we are up to now - 10th ?) Deep Sky Camp from Friday 25th to Monday 28th August.

We have an experiemental new venue at Tuesnoad near Headcorn. Paul and I have scoped out the field and although smaller than Penny's field it looks like it might be darker and has a good horizon. A map is on the main OAS website and Paul will be putting up a more detailed map and instructions to get there before too long.

The cost is £5 per night. The facilities in this new place are fairly basic. If you don't want to camp there are loads of B&B's in the area. Contact me for further info. People who don't want to stay over but want to come up during the day or for a nights obsserving are welcome.

We traditionally have a big cook up on the Saturday night and make a pot of curry/bolognese/stew/whatever. During the day we occupy ourselves with Solar Observing and various other activities.

If it is cloudy we usually occupy ourselves with lots of wine and sillyness.

Either way it is a great weekend and some of our best observing/imaging sessions under great skies have been at DSC.

The day is open to anyone, you don't have to be a member of the OAS to attend. For further information please call Mike on 07798 932500 or post a reply to this message.
