Hello to all OAS members!
I joined the society a few months ago and have mastered WhatsApp and posted a few images in the Gallery, but have only just got around to looking at the forum.
I've been involved in astronomy and astrophotography on and off since I was a teenager (>50 years ago!!) but have recently been able to spend more time on it since I retired.
Unfortunately I lost my garden observatory about a year ago when the house was sold. Given the light pollution in Orpington, I decided to switch to a mobile setup that I could take to a darker site by car. I'm now in the processing of finding suitable sites within a reasonable driving distance and it's a lot harder than I was expecting!
I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone at the meetings and observing nights and will be attending as many as I can. So in the meantime, Best Regards and Clear Nights!

Welcome Graham, we met at a recent meeting. 
It is great to have another imager in our midst, especially an experienced one.  Some of our past imagers have moved out of the area, although some still retain their membership Albeit on Zoom etc.  We also have some new imagers who have started in the last 18 months or are just getting started.

You might well be interested in attending our Deep Sky camp (DSC) which we go to a couple of times per year.  There is currently one Glamping POD and One Cabin which are usually booked by our regulars, a small B&B and planning permission has been obtained to buid 4 more PODs but not quite sure how soon that will happen.  Or you might simply want to drive down for the evening (Just South of Bewl Water).

It's a small camp and we normally go when it is not the height of the season, the next camp is booked for March.  We have our own separate whatsapp group.
