The Thing

This is one of many dark nebulae in the area 'behind' Deneb between Cygnus and Cepheus. In fact there are many in the image which is 108' x 74' arcmins in size.

33x120s = 1hr 6 mins of data at Gain 1601 Offset 30 Temp -5c

LDN 984 again but 7h 12m of data (219x120s) at Unity Gain. I got a few blobs of hydrogen alpha to show this time as well as the reflection nebula (not to be confused with the star halos caused by my UV/IR filter).

Image date, time and location: 2023_08_20/21, Manche, France
Telescope aperture and focal ratio: TS1506UNC f4 Newtonian
Camera and filters used: QHY294PROC OSC, Optolong UV/IR
Processing applied: Pixinsight with Generalised Hyperbolic Stretch and Blur Exterminator

I uploaded your second image to the report for next month and it looks really lovely on a large screen.  I hadn't noticed your link to the larger size previously.  Very nicely processed.
