My old Meade 8" SCT did a sterling job on this occasion. I took 100k+ frames in total as Mars approached zenith. This image is 30% of 5000 processed using AstroSurface NOVA  (2020-09-12       http://astrosurface.com) for the first time after having a go with Autostakkert!3, PlanetarySystemStacker (hopeless on this image) and good old Registax. AstroSurface NOVA has a bit of a 'different' interface but excellent tools, I will use it again. Firecapture details underneath. Original capture only 100px across the planet.

Nice capture.

Mac.

Excellent!  Seeing has gone downhill over here since this week.  The previous two had some nights of very good seeing.  I hope conditions improve as we approach opposition and maximum size.

That's really excellent Duncan.  Astrosurface NOVA, not heard of that one but will take a look.

Well done Duncan
Lovely amount of detail there:
Syrtis Major, Arabia, Hellas and Sinus Meridiani judging by the map in this months AN.

Noel
Swapped telescopes for armchair.

The Thing

Thanks guys, hopefully the cloud will clear for opposition and I can have another go.
