Hello All

Hope you are all well and not melting in the heat!

LDN1251 - The Anglerfish Nebula in Cepheus

I only got a chance to image this one during the full Moon cycle so it is noisy.  It sits so far north that the Moon did not have too much of an impact on RGB but as it rides over London's LP dome, the L was quite blotchy.

AR12770 and Full Disc in Ha

Taken this Sunday under passing clouds and hazy skies and 34C!  A test of a new planetary imaging camera from ZWO.

I could do with that blotchyness in my images ;)

Surprising but I can actually see why someone might call it the Angler fish nebula !  I usually have brain fail on my in house pattern matching routines so usually see anything but what these nebula are called.

Excellent images Roberto, the dusty ones in particular are very photogenic.

Thank you Robert!

For a beautiful version of this nebula see Jim Thommes':  https://www.jthommes.com/Astro/LDN1251.htm

He is a good source for obscure targets!

Again, what you can achieve from Petts Wood amazes me.  I tried to get this target earlier in the year from Swanley Bortle 6, without a bright Moon and with a Hutech filter, the results were so horrible I just chucked it away.

Lovely images Roberto.

Lol, I won't tell you what I called this nebula until I found out it's real name.  Though my host in Swanley where I tried to capture it knows.

Very nice Roberto!
For a full moon background that's not too bad at all.

Swapped telescopes for armchair.
