Here's the moon hanging in the nave at Rochester Cathedral:

It's there until 4 March and it ought to be more spectacular at night because they switch on its internal illumination.

We saw it (I assume it's the same one...) in Gloucester Cathedral late last year. It was still being set up when we were there.

It is impressive when illuminated.  I saw it back in the summer at the National History Museum and did a short presentation on it at the society meeting.

A clever idea!

Yes - that's the one!  It's been touring around for more than 3 years:

Thanks. It's sure been about a bit. We had some friends from Germany staying, and we'd been visiting some of the relatively nearby "Harry Potter" and "Dr. Who" locations. Gloucester Cathedral falls into the former category, and it's less than fifteen miles away, so it had to be visited. The Moon exhibit was a surprise bonus.

I plan to go back and see it one evening.

It's a stunning replica.  Are the craters cratered or just a picture?

It's a smooth surface - not textured with craters.
