You may recall I took this image back in 2017 and found the Squid extremely faint (it is reputed to be) and could not get it to show even after 30 minutes binned data (see specs below).

Having recently learnt a technique on "how to bring out the faint stuff" I thought I would give it a go.
It's still extremely noisy, but at least I have finally convinced myself it is worth trying to get more data and continue with this target.   I had been told I would need a 3nm Oiii filter for it to show, which I don't have.

So watch this space (Literally ha ha).

Original specs.

I have imaged this at two different Astro camps collecting a total of 5 hours 38 minutes so far.
At Kelling Heath I did 20 minutes binned in Oxygen and it still only partly shows up.

Baader filters
Ha 7nm total of 12 x 600secs
Oiii 8.5nm total of 2 hours 50 minutes in 600 and 1200 secs binned
Sii 8nm 10 x 600 binned.

Mapped HSO
Atik 460EX and WOZS71
HEQ5

This is a very difficult object Carole and your new processing technique has certainly worked.  Well done.  I captured it in 2017 also and after 22hrs of integration did not have much to show:  https://www.astrobin.com/317335/F/

Thanks Roberto.

Your image is very faint too, but at least you can make out the outline of the Squid which was missing in my earlier process.

If I get a chance I will have another go at it now I know that new technique.  I think the first process was probably overwhelmed by the Ha also.
