Hello All

As promised to Carole, I'm posting the two shots I took over the last few weeks; both LRGB.  With this miserable weather it's been difficult to gather much data but I managed to finish the second shot on Sunday morning.

NGC 2182 and friends

A difficult one for me as it only clears the roof of my house to the South for a few hours each night and then only reaches maximum elevation of 32 degrees.  I think the L channel shows so much more detail than the colour one.

Details at the Astrobin link:  https://www.astrobin.com/388749  Version A is L, version B is annotated, C is LRGB.

NGC 3190 and friends

A little bit higher up in the sky but could have done with much more L signal.  I'm amazed at the number of background galaxies (see annotated version in Astrobin).

Thanks

Lovely images Roberto, again impressive for these parts.

I've been at a hospital appointment most of the afternoon but I had already commented to Roberto on Astrobin where I suggested he post here.

Incredible results from Petts Wood, so smooth.

I just looked up Roberto's Bortle scale on this map and it says 6.
It says 7 for me with an SQM of 18.85, but I think that's a bit wishful thinking if you look at the description for a Bortle 7 sky as I definitely can't see as much as the scale suggests and when I measured it was SQM 17.4.

Never the less, to get what Roberto does from Bortle 6, is incredible.

Very nice - particularly like the NGC 3190 - Subtle processing & the details in all those little galaxies is amazing - could never ever achieve images like that from Bromley with my trusty little ED80 & Atik 314 :-(  John

Me neither John, not with our skies.

Loved the 'NGC 3190 and Friends' picture.  The tidal/vertical perturbations to the disc of NGC 3187 are stunning!

Thanks

Carole - I think Kit spec also plays a part in those stunning images - John

Thank you everyone!  For some reason I was not getting notifications of your replies.
I count myself lucky to be able to image from Petts Wood as the skies are definitely better to other parts of London where I've lived (Chiswick, Chislehurst).  Kit plays a role and I'm very fortunate to have managed to acquire what I have over the years but the secret is integration time; lots of it!
I had tried to upload original sized versions of the pictures but I cannot login into the Gallery section and/or open a folder to post my files.
Thanks again

How are you linking the images above Roberto?  I normally link mine from Astrobin and use the middle view.  i.e. not the one that has the platesolving in your gallery, and not the full resolution one.  Right clock on it and paste the URL into the insert image button here.

For access to the gallery you may need to contact Klitos who is the new webmaster.

Just as you say with Astrobin: There's an icon on it to "share" images and I use the Forum option and link to the mid-sized shot.
I will email Klitos on the Gallery - thank you!

Wow!  Beautiful images Roberto!

That Hickson group is stunning.  I'm very tempted to give it a go myself.

Your processing skills are excellent to pull such good quality out of your light polluted sky.

Hi Roberto,

I don't use the share button, I just right click on the enlarged image (not the gallery one with the platesolving) and copy the URL.

I just did it with your image and got this:

Roberto

Mark - thank you!
Carole - that's exactly the way to do it; noted!

Very very nice Roberto. You have mastered light pollution and processing, congratulations! BTW Interesting targets.

I have put your images on my February report, Roberto. But they are the ones with the "labels" on; and they tend to hide the actual images. Please can you put the images on the Forum as Carole suggested; I can then put the images onto my report, along with the other ones.

Hope this all makes sense, Doug.
Always look on the bright side of life ...

Roberto

Duncan - thank you!

Doug, the image Carole linked would be the best I can do (it still has a copyright at bottom right/left).
