That skywatcher guidescope holder is solid as a rock , flexure shouldnt be a prob.

Yes Robert I am going for a dual Rig with my new Altair Astro Lightwave 66ED-R refractor with my ASI183mm and my Canon 1000d with my Skywatcher 120ed, so need to get a few bits for that.

If you are serious about keeping a DSLR then you really must rid of that Canon 1000D and get yourself a Nikon D5300.  The difference between them is huge.

All, I would add is that 5 microns of movement equates to three pixels of star trails.

That's quite a surprise to me.
The 1000D is a 10 year old camera.
The 750D is less than 4 years old.

The 750D has significantly higher quantum efficiency (49% vs 32%) and much lower read noise.
The 750D has ISO up to 12800 whilst the 1000D has a max ISO of 1600

Same size chip but pixel size 5.7  on 1000d as compared to 3.7 for 750d , definitely get better results, and live view is much better,
