2nd attempt , had some erroneous data in DSS. Took those frames out , still had 35 mins exposure at 800 ISO.

It is one of the most distant open clusters known, with distances of 8,000 to 9,500 light-years from the earth
At the top of the bright stars there is something called "Struve 131" which is a treble star.

Reprocessed with different settings in DSS.
Some nice orange stars, left aircraft in for effect.

The second one looks much better.

I'm slightly worried that you said "Reprocessed with different settings in DSS."

What settings are you changing to make so much difference?

Mark

Cheers Mark
I just took out any bum subs and used DSS on same settings as first, about 8 subs ignored.

Sorry for late reply , Mark.
I processed the right way the second time in DSS.
