Just an early reminder that there is an Observing evening on Tuesday, 13th December. Meet at the OVMH Otford at 20.00hrs and let`s hope that the sky will be clear. This is the night of the Geminids and a full moon so sighting the meteors may be difficult but will be worth a go....

I will remind members again nearer the time. Please try and turn up; the previous meeting there was very good with quite a few of the public arriving as well. Hope to see them again this time.

Come and join us for another wonderful Observing evening at the OVMH Otford, for an interesting discussion about all things astronomical or whatever takes your fancy. I hope there may be an illustrated talk about star trails and how to do them; let`s hope so anyway. There will be warm or even hot beverages to partake in at a minimal cost, plus, of course, viewing the sky through various optical items. If you can, bring your scope or binos; more equipment makes a big difference so that guests can see what they may want to buy .... one day.

Please come along and support us; it will be good to see the members there as well as guests.

     Thanks, Doug. And Rose.

Final reminder about tonight`s Observing evening .... yep, it`s cloudy now but it may clear so let`s think positive and still come along for a nice cuppa and chat. If you have problems with a scope or whatever, bring it along and we will have a workshop to try and solve these niggles. Been there and know what it`s like, he said. Rose will be on hand with the 2017 calendars for sale at £5.00 each. Good value for money......

See you all tonight at 20.00hrs. At the OVMH Otford.

     Cheers, Doug. And Rose...

Thanks to all who turned up for the Observing evening yesterday; it was a pretty good evening, although the sky was naff and we missed the main event of the evening, the meteor shower and the so-called super moon. Roy and Julian gave small demonstrations about setting up scopes with go-to`s and Ivor gave an interesting talk about how to set up a camera to make star trails, complete with examples...

A big thank you to Sue, who organised the tea in the hall, that was most welcome. Let us hope that the next Observing evening on the 24th January will have even more people turning up for a convivial evening in a warm place, and also let us hope that the sky will be clear, so that we can use the large observing patio outside the hall.

     Thanks to all once again,

     Doug. And Rose.
