Observing Evenings, Imaging Sessions & Deep Sky Camps 2015

All dates subject to change or cancellation at short notice so check the forum prior to the date.

Observing/Social Evenings
Tuesdays 7:15pm GMT 8:15pm BST

20th January - Cloudy
17th February - Clear but with haze/high clouds
17th March - Cloudy
21st April - Very successful. 17 attendees.
19th May - Cloudy.
16th June - Successful. 7 people. Clear skies.
19th June - Additional observing night at Cairds Campsite - Cancelled due to poor weather
14th July - 7 people but cloudy so a chat in the pub.
18th August - Good turnout. 8 people. However, cloudy.

10th November
8th December


Deep Sky Camps
Locations changeable. Check forum before departing.

16th to 18th January - Cancelled due to weather
20th to 22nd February - Cancelled due to weather
20th to 22nd March - Small group went. Few clear hours Friday only.
17th to 19th April - Cancelled as everyone was at Kelling
15th to 17th May - Successful. Group of 6 went to Cairds + visitors.
19th to 21st June - Cairds Campsite - Cancelled due to poor weather
17th to 19th July - Running Waters - Cancelled due to apathy.
14th to 16th August - Cancelled due to wet weather
11th to 13th September
9th to 11th October
13th to 15th November
11th to 13th December


Imaging Sessions
Contact the host for attendance details.

Friday 13th February - Cloudy. Turned into an image processing session.
Saturday 14 March - at Mark's - Cancelled due to illness.
Friday 15 May - at Robert's - To be rescheduled.
Friday 10 July - at Robert's - 2 attendees. Cloudy.
Tuesday 11 August - at Carole's 7 beginners. Cloudy.

The dates for 2015 have now been added. As you can see official DSC dates will be monthly in 2015.

...and added to the website. I've marked all the 2015 DSCs provisional at Rother Valley (because a location needed choosing). When locations are settled then the correct ones can be selected and the provisional mark removed.

Mike - 13th Feb went ahead as an image processing evening even though it was cloud.

Thanks Mike I was aware but in any case I can no longer do that day so I'll likely rearrange before the next meeting.

Don't forget - Imaging session at my house this Friday 10th July from 8pm, no earlier please.

The forecast is for it to be clear but it won't be dark till very late so it's unlikely we'll get any observing in.
