On the back of Ian and Chris' 'throwing down of the gauntlet' in the Comet Question topic - A challange is now issued to capture images of any of the up and coming comets due over the next few months.

The challange is simply to capture an image of the comet. It doesn't need to be a good image and equipment ranging from a 35mm camera on a still tripod to images using expensive guided scopes and CCD cameras are allowed. As long as you can capture some kind of image and it is clear that what we are looking at is a comet then it is fine.

There are no prizes, just a challange to see how we get on and to share knowledge with each other on how the images were captured. The images will be shown at one of the meetings later on in the year. This challenge was also mentioned to the members at the last meeting.

...and I hope there'll be some more images of comets in the gallery by the end of the summer.
