Just another one from My marathon evening on friday night.

Same as before,
LX200 10" GPS F6.3
1/80 sec
400 ISO.
Single photo.

Processes in photoshop, downsized to 800 pixels.
Tried stacking about 40 of these in deep sky stacker, but the result was very poor.
Not sure what was wrong.

Rocket Pooch

very nice, am I the only one here who likes the moon?

JohnP

Nope - I like it as well (except when I am trying to do deep sky images... :-) )

That's a very nice image Mac - No idea why you can't stack in DSS...

Oooh Mac I really like that, I want to get lots of the Moon

Mac,

That's a good single image.  If you stack you can improve it markedly.  Try Registax instead of DSS (or even IRIS if you're brave).

Are you sure the shutter speed was 1/80s at ISO 400 F6.3 because at ISO 800 F6.3 I had to use a shutter speed of 1/1000s (on Saturday night).

Had another check, just in case, and yup, its 1/80 @ F6.3 iso400. as per the meta data on the raw file.

Dont forget though, i did still have my light polution narrow band filter on,
which does reduce the light quite dramatically.
I did try stacking in registax but for some reason it only took raw's and nor raw + jpg.
Mich automate the process and convert them all to jpg and the try stacking.

Which filter is that?  It sounds exactly what I need for deep sky work.

Mac

This is the filter I use for Light polution.

I've reworked the photo, Converted all 68 of them in to Jpg's only stacked the first 20 though, just to see if it would work.
Ill restack it some time tomorrow with all of them.
This is the result.

Full size!
