M20 Trifid Nebula

I never add spikes to my images, only when I am using an image to decorate something. 
Just tried Noel's actions, but they do tend to convert to 8bit sometimes too prematurely.

That's not at all bad given that it's only 20min of data using a DSLR and given the Trifid is so close to the horizon (which both attenuates the signal and plonks it amongst the light pollution).  I prefer the subtlety of the first image - the second one is far too oversaturated.
