lake on Mars???

Take a look at this image from Mars Odyssey - http://themis.la.asu.edu/zoom-20040422a.html - especially the full size image. Now does that look like liquid or what?!?!

I contacted the boffins at NASA who gave a very short statement :-

"Thermophysical data from the TES spectrometer aboard the MGS orbiter tells
us that the substance is basaltic sand."

I sent the url to the BBC news website and told them to post it and fool the world that there is a lake on Mars full of fish. Do you think they will?
