Some Sun and the ISS in between clouds - Late January and early February 2022

Hello All

I last managed to capture a pass of the ISS over Petts Wood on 27 January at 18:07.  The intention was to capture it again with the large Maksutov but I only managed to catch with the smaller 94mm f/7 refractor:

And the animation,



The still was a stack of some 50 frames at 0.7ms (camera was running at 72fps).  The animation is from different stacks (from 8 to 60 frames) as the ISS climbed up towards the zenith.

On 29 January, I managed to capture two full discs of the Sun in both white light (WL) and Hydrogen Alpha (Ha):





The spot in the middle was Active Region (AR) 12936.  Both of these captured with the 94mm f/7 refractor in the first picture above using an ASI174MM camera at 1ms and 103fps.

Lastly, a few close-ups of the Sun in WL using the larger Maksutov.  As the Sun is so low in the sky, the seeing is not great at the best of times and the resolution suffers.

And from 5 February, AR12940 and 2941:





Both acquired with an ASI174MM camera at some 50fps and stacks of some 150 frames.

Your imaging is just sublime  , Roberto.
Super results and with the ISS as well, it must be the furthest man made object in space that can be imaged with any detail.

Really liked the third Sun Image Roberto. 

The angle gives it surface texture and more a 3D effect .

Thank you Hugh. Yes, those limb shots give a sense of reality (and size) to the active regions.   This latter AR is moving towards the centre of the Sun so should be fun to watch over the next couple of weeks.
