Title: ADVICE NEEDED
Post by: Anonymous on Sep 19, 2004, 07:42:00
Hi all

I am afraid it is another newbie looking for answers to questions,
I have had an LX 200 GPS 10" but was unable to use it to its maximum effect, i could not get used to using the goto hand controller as i could not 2 start align, so i would spend hours just scoping around the night sky, in the end i got fed up at not being able to look at specific deep sky images so i sold it on ebay.

Well i have now got another ETX 125, with the usual accessories. I am hoping to join the club, if i am successful  i would liek to know, are there people on hand there to help me get the maximum benefit out of the the scope ? I would luv to be able to use that goto to its fullest, and be able to see clusters and galaxies like andromeda.

What additonal lenses would you recommend for the ETX 125, as it only comes with the 26mm lens. and what wide angle lens would you also recommend if any ?

Sorry for the usual qestions and if this has already been disucssed in another thread, but i am determined to get this right his time,
thanx in advance for the help

matt

Hi Matt,
The Society also has a Meade 125, and several members with Meade GOTO scopes. If yuo bring it allong to the observing evenings there will be someone there who will be able to help.

Welcome to the Forum - Shame you got rid of the 10-inch - I would have loved to have had a look/ played with that - The images must have been awesome (even for my crappy eyesight)

Cheers,  John.
