Title: Dont panic, it's only me
Post by: Bob D on Aug 02, 2013, 20:56:51
Think I maybe a bit late with my comment now, but hope it's the sort of comment that would be appreciated by the society members.

Referring to the society meeting on 27th June, typically I can't remember the name of the member who delivered that brilliant talk with graphics on ,"The size of the Universe".
However, I particularly refer to the comment made by a fellow member saying that he now felt, "insignificant", to which, Mike laughingly quipped, "that's because you are"!
My immediate thought was that if that were so, then so be all of us, and indeed, so be the entire universe?
I'm tempted to head further comment, "size doesn't matter". Prompting me to state that, "ashes to ashes, dust to dust", whatever form we take fellow members, we will remain part of the Universe FOREVER! And by todays scientific calculations that makes us all around 13.5 billion years old. How insignificant is that?
